These are the latest illustrations I have done for Intuitive Designs : a collection of cute and smart puppies. Naomi and I love dogs and animals in general. Sadly, at this moment and for several circumstances, we can’t keep pets at home, but we would die to have one. Naomi always says she wants to have two dogs and a pig. It’s ironic because we don’t have our own pets but one of our favorite TV shows is Dog Whisperer. Everytime we have the opportunity, we babysit pets for our friends, like Runa, a smart and lovely dog from our friends Julio and Mayte that we’ve had at home during the summer for the last three years.

This fall, Runa had babies. We’ve been talking for a long time about how much we’d like to have a puppy from Runa, but this was not a good timing due to our forthcoming move to the US. So our heart broke when we knew about the new puppies. We got so obsessed with the idea and then I ended up dreaming of a puppy that would play with me. So the next morning I decided to go for this collection of commercial illustrations, including two different puppies: the one in my dream, which is the white one with the spots, and the black one inspired in Runa. It’s been really fun to do these illustrations and it reminded me about how much I used to draw dogs as a kid, I guess it must have been the influence of Walt Disney and Hanna-Barbera.

So, finally we went to see Runa’s puppies. It was hard because we can’t adopt any of them, so will have to get satisfied with having these other smart and cute puppies messing around our web site.
