The new album from Kimara Sajn/+1 “Life Stories”, which includes my sleeve design and illustration, is out now!
I’m extremely happy with both the result and the experience of working with such creative, talented and thoughtful people as Kimara and B. Sue. This year, I’ve decided to have this CD at my Christmas tree as gift that symbolizes creativity, prosperity and friendship. What else could I ask for?
If you are familiar with my former blog posts about this project, then you already know that “Life Stories” was inspired in the artists grandkids. The whole album concept and music is focused on the childhood world. Kimara and B. Sue have self-produced and self-released numerous music works throughout the Precognitive Records label. They are most oriented to progressive and avant-garde music.
I truly think this is the best work I’ve listened from them. It’s a really fun album with a jazz rock improvisional vibe and a big dose of that children fairy tale mysteries that I love so much. Also, my friend Brian Burman (who produces music for dance and music films in Zürich) arranged one of the instrumental pieces in the album, “Mosaic for Sandburg/Lost”. I know that I’ve said this before but I’ll say it once again: this is one of the most delicate and beautiful pieces of music that I’ve heard in a long time. You can listen to it here.
I know that I’ve failed you all before, when I announced a give away of Judy Dyble’s “Talking With Strangers” CD in August this year. Still I haven’t got a single promo copy by the way. Well, the good news are that this time I have a bunch of “Life Stories” promotional CDs waiting at my studio and ready to be given away!
I decided to give away 5 CDs to the first 5 people who commented on the first 5 blog posts related to the “Life Stories” project. Thank you so much for your support!
So, the winners of the “Life Stories” CD give away are:
- Carolyn: August 24th
- Zoe: September, 2nd
- Amy Crook, September 10th
- Steven, September 17th
- Lorell Lehman, October 5th
If you are one of the winners, please contact me in order to provide me with your postal address. Thank you so much for your support!

koldo,
i woke up this morning to a special treat–a beautifully-wrapped gift! your illustrations are beautiful, i am especially fond of the underwater koldo-world on the inside, with the fish and his shiny rider! and i love the postcard, i have always liked that illustration, but somehow seeing it in print is even better.
and your letter-head theme and image, so cool! you made my day, koldo, thank you for your generosity and the beauty you add to the world!
Thank you so much for the gift. The illustrations on the CD insert are gorgeous. And thank you for the card insertions as well. “The Homesick Willow” is one the first illustrations that attracted me to this site (I had found it referenced on someone else’s blog promoting you). So thank you for that card!! I’ve listen to the CD and my favorite is “Mosaic for Sandburg/Lost”. Looking forward to the updates on the Kooky Pets book you are working. Thank you again!
