Compiled with the collaboration of a team of erudite scientists, “Kooky Pets” is the product an Internet and social media experience where the blog readers are the co-creators as well as protagonists. The story of this book starts in June 2009, when I invited the readers of my blog to participate creating a collection of imaginary creatures with their crazy ideas. The result of this fun experiment are 40 pages of fantasy and imagination, including 19 pages of full color illustrations.

About Me

Ever since I was a child, I’ve lived inside an invisible bubble where I could discover a world of my own: drawing impossible worlds of imaginary characters and improvising neverending stories with plastic figurines. I started illustrating and writing stories before I even learned how to tie my shoes and I started working as an illustrator in a studio in Madrid as soon as I finished my schooling in the mid 80′s.

Today, I live in Washington state, USA, and my dream is to help make someone else feel the same magic that I experience when I hold a very special book in my hands: a timeless feeling of entering into a strangely familiar parallel reality that I feel as my own, sitting in my bedroom on a Saturday evening, completely mesmerized while hearing the raindrops on my window.
