Mesmerizer Magnetism by Koldo Barroso
“Mesmerizer Magnetism” by Koldo Barroso, 2008

Did you ever wake up in the morning without a clue of whatever you dreamed? Do you wonder why other people tell you about their dreams and you always forget yours?

If that’s the case then you probably had an encounter in your dreams with The Mesmerizer: a sinister creature from the Dreamlands who rips off people’s dreams and erases them from their memory to collect them. He has a big appetite for people’s dreams and no mercy with children, from whom he has ripped of enough dreams to build up one of the largest collections of dreams in the universe. He uses his skills to magnetize humans and possesses an insightful view inside people’s dreams just by looking at their eyes.

This is the second illustration for the story of The Mesmerizer that will be featured in my book in works “Portraits from the Dreamlands”. It is a continuation of the former Mesmerizer image that I did in April this year and was featured in the cover of Graphi Magazine .

During the process of making of this work it has been very inspirational for me to listen to glass harmonica interpretations by Thomas Bloch and Bruno Hoffman as well as the songs “Nine” by Autechre and “Anna Christie” by Tuxedomoon.

The complete story and illustrations of The Mesmerizer will be featured in the book “Portraits from the Dreamlands”.
