Apology: Talking With Strangers delay

September 4th, 2009

IMPORTANT NOTE: Between February and June 2009, I produced 6 illustrations for Judy Dyble’s “Talking With Strangers” album for no charge. The album was released in August 2009. At the present date I haven’t received any copy of the vinyl album, as stated in the signed agreement.

Judy Dyble Talking With Strangers

I owe you all an apology for the big delay in the launch of my new “Talking Strangers” set of prints. I know that some of you have been patiently waiting for a while and asking about it, since I first announced it 2 months ago. I’m very sorry about it but still I cannot say when I will be able to launch, since at this point it doesn’t depend on me but on the record label’s distribution.

As I first announced in July, the new “Talking With Strangers” limited edition will comprise a set of 3 illustrations that have been featured in the inner sleeve booklet of Judy Dyble’s album. For those who didn’t heard about this yet, the album was released in the UK on August the 10th, but I don’t have a release date in the US. yet. This is a very special project in which legendary musicians from King Crimson, Pentangle and Fairport Convention collaborated.

My intention was to give away a few free promotional copies of the CD album with the first sales of the limited edition of signed prints but I’m still waiting for the promo CDs to be delivered and the truth is that still I haven’t even got to see a copy of the CD myself!

Brilliant Music’s manager, Jon Brilliant, first told me that my promo copies were sent on the 10th of June and ever since I’ve been waiting for a delivery date. If I had known they would take so long, then I would have waited longer to announce this promotion. So far, I can only say that by contract they should be delivered to me anytime soon.

Thanks you all for your patience and understanding.

How delightful. Thank you for the all the care and skill you have put into this illustration. I was touched and intrigued by your particular interpretation of "C'est La Vie" to see how you had taken the piece beyond its original form of a study in melancholy.

"I received the package!!! Your talent is awesome! Thank you so much I love them. I have already framed them and have put in a place where my gaze will fall upon them frequently. I’m sure that everyone that visits my studio will also feel the Magical Radiance of your Work. I feel so lucky. I feel like I own a museum piece!

Koldo Barroso is a brilliant and very original artist. His uniquely beautiful style of illustration is inspirational. You can feel the joy and fun that runs through all of his work.
We were blessed to have him do the illustration and cover design for our album "Life Stories" and couldn't have been more delighted. I feel his energy and wonderful artwork are as much a part of the album as the music itself, it so captured the mood and meaning of the project.

"It is pure joy to enter the imagination of artist & writer, Koldo Barroso. His is a world of delightfully whimsical and bizarre characters brought to life with sensitivity, skill and humour.

This is creativity at its very best - inventive and poetical, its charm simply magnified upon repeated viewing.
Truly magical."
